Suppress Me More, Please

That’s what the Malay/Muslims of Malaysia are implicitly saying, if they remain silent over the “enhanced” punishment proposed with RUU355.

It’s as if they WANT their lives to be policed by the religious enforcers 24/7. And in my book, anyone who actually wants this is stupid. But that’s what decades of conditioning has created: a populace that actually wants to be treated like they’re criminals waiting to happen.

And guess what? I predict the majority of Muslim MPs will do one of two things when this amendment is tabled in Parliament: Vote Yea, or Abstain. Even if they personally don’t agree with the amendments, I doubt a single one has the testicular fortitude to vote No, simply because of the perceived potential loss of support from the Malay/Muslim voters.

This perception has, in part, been created by the very loud, obnoxious and influential Muslim far-right hardliners, and the legion of NGOs that do their handiwork, which claim to speak on behalf of all Malays/Muslims.

Malaysia is fast becoming a country I DO NOT WANT to live in anymore.

Seriously, what is even the point of living when one is not allowed to live the way they see fit for themselves? And to live one’s life the way they personally see fit, but having to look over their shoulders every waking moment is not living.

That cyanide cocktail becomes more appealing with every passing second…
